Most Reverend Dr Samuel Asante Antwi, a former presiding bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, has reportedly passed away.
A report by Myjoyonline.com indicated Asante Antwi passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital in the early hours of Sunday, September 13, 2020.
According to the report sighted by YEN.com.gh, Asante-Antwi had been ill for some time now but the immediate cause of his death is not yet known.

Most Rev Asante-Antwi is popularly known for his time as the presiding bishop of the Methodist Church from 1997-2003. Graphic.com.gh reports that he was inducted into office on August 2, 1997.

Apart from his success as a clergyman, Asante-Antwi was also a respected personality in politics after his retirement from the pulpit.
He was a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) where he served as a member of the party's Council of Elders.
In 2015, he was the head of the NPP's Disciplinary Committee which suspended the party's then-chairman, Paul Afoko, and other executives.
Most recently, Asante-Antwi was the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral.
In other political news, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has outdoored its flagbearer for the 2020 elections.
Madam Brigitte Dzogbenuku is the one the party chose at a congress on Saturday, September 12, 2020.
Dzogbenuku who served as the running mate to Paa Kwesi Nduom in 2016 promised massive change for Ghana if the PPP should win the election.
Speaking after her outdooring, she stated that if elected into power, her party will bring about a new crop of leadership that believes in and promote hard work, honesty, integrity, respect, and discipline, loyalty, dignity, and pride.
Meanwhile, the NDC launched its manifesto and one of the promises is that the party will scrap the corporate income tax for small companies.
The NDC also promises to scrap the law banning the importation of salvaged cars in order to keep spare parts dealers and sellers in business.
