On Thursday, April 1 2026, the media personality caught the attention of observers after she hinted at marital troubles with her husband, amid rampant speculation.
In a TikTok live session with Prophet Fire Oja, Afua Asantewaa announced that she and her husband were separated after her relocation to Canada and not divorced.
The former GWR participant also stated that she was healing from an unspecified setback she was facing in her marriage.
"I am not divorced. We are separated for a good cause, and I am gradually healing. It is not any big deal."

Afia Asantewaa details reason for marrying Aduonum
In a video from an interview on Lorlor TV, Afua Asantewaa, who was questioned about what her husband told her that triggered her to accept her proposal, stated that love usually fades; however, she looked beyond love.
According to the influencer, she wanted someone who was a friend so that when her love fades, their friendship could maintain the steeze.
“Love usually fades, but if you liked the person as a friend before marriage, when you feel your love has faded, the friendship keeps you together. At the time, I didn't have any friends, but Kofi Aduonum was there. He was a close pal, so I felt he was the right person,” he said.
Afia Asantewaa further added that he was ready to support her dreams and showed that he would be a supportive partner.
“My dreams and aspirations were his priorities. Concerning my studies at the Ghana Institute of Journalism GIJ now UNIMAC, I told him about my wish to be a journalist, and he said it was possible. The kind gesture made me know that he would be a supportive husband,” he added.
