Ghanaian Lady Flees From Her Marriage With Grown Man to Canada: “I Was Always Sad”
- A young Ghanaian lady left her elderly husband unannounced and subsequently travelled to Canada because she was forced to marry the man
- In an interview, Lad indicated that she was mistreated by her husband and his first wife, which caused her so much sadness while with him
- Even though they are not formally divorced, the young lady indicated that she was no longer interested in the marriage
Lad, a Ghanaian lady living in Canada, narrated how she travelled out of the country and what led her to leave Ghana.
The young lady said she was born and raised in Tehciman of the Bono East Region.

According to Lad, her first time of leaving Techiman was when she furthered her education at the University of Ghana, Legon.
While studying at the University of Ghana, Legon, she was married off to a man who was in his forties while she was in her teens.

In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Lad said that she was not happy in the marriage because she was forced into it. She further stated that her husband was dictating her every move, and her co-wife treated her poorly.
Lad narrated that she discussed the issues in her marriage with her friend, who later helped her secure her Canadian visa. Lad said her husband's mistreatment worsened, and that made her leave for her mother's home.
She later confided in her mother about her Canadian visa, and they helped fund her visa abroad. Lad narrated that she stayed with her cousin for a year after getting to Canada and is finding her feet in the new country.
She indicated that she does not intend to return to her marriage even though they are not legally divorced.

Woman shares ex-husband's abuse
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Afua, a Ghanaian in Canada, narrated how she escaped from her ex-husband due to severe abuse.
Despite an apology, the abuse continued in Canada, leading her to leave, and he reported her for kidnapping.
Afua later gained full custody after divorce, as her ex-husband abandoned the children.
