A Nigerian man is finding it hard to pay his house rent and came online to lament.
After he posted a video on TikTok, sympathetic netizens started asking him how much his rent was.

He explained in the post's comment section that the rent was $151.
The man was sitting on a motorcycle with a sad face as he munched on a snack.
In his caption, he said he had no idea how he would go home and explain to his landlord that he could still not find the money.

Netizens sympathise with man who's unable to pay his rent
His post sparked mixed feelings. While some showed interest in helping, others accused him of living above his means.

Man living in Makoko says he doesn't pay rent
Meanwhile, YEN.com reported that an Oyinbo man lives in Makoko slum, an area considered reserved for the poorest of the poor in Lagos.
He, however, said it doesn't matter where one sleeps and that the people there love him, and he has built relationships with them.
He said he does not pay rent in the house he lives in Makoko and showed the apartment's interiors.
