A Ghanaian woman has got people talking after she expressed frustration over the increased prices of basic school textbooks.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the woman, known on TikTok as @queenofqueens.cosmetics, was seen lamenting after spending GH¢941 on textbooks for her child, who was now in class 1.

As a single mother of three kids, she raised concerns over the costly textbooks, trying to find out why text materials for a child at that basic level had become so expensive.

She then called on the Ministry of Education to look into the matter and ensure that the cost of textbooks for kids at that level would be affordable.

The middle-aged woman ended by asking if there are any options available for parents, especially single mothers, to receive financial support in purchasing books for their children.

At the time of writing the report, the video had racked in over 2,000 likes and 500 comments.

Ghanaians who thronged the comment section of the video shared opinions on the situation, with many also sharing their plight.

Young man complains about high school fees

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian woman caused a stir after she shared that she pays school fees for her baby.

Taken to TikTok, the lady posted a video where she was seen in an angry rant, saying she had been informed that she would have to pay GH¢7,300 before her child was admitted to the preschool.

She then disclosed that her child was not even a year-old yet, but authorities at the preschool maintained that it was the standard amount required for children aged two and below.
