Erik ten Hag has landed a temporary role even as his long-term Manchester United future remains uncertain.

Ten Hag certainly feels the pressure that comes with being the manager of the Old Trafford club after a lacklustre start to the season.

As MEN reports, he has taken up a coaching role at Mark van der Maarel's testimonial match at his former club, Utrecht.

Van der Maarel is said to have requested that his former coach be present during the match. Ten Hag managed the former defender between 2015 and 2017 before joining Ajax, where he made his name. Van der Maarel retired after spending 17 seasons at the club, as captured by Transfermarkt.
