Ten Hag was replaced by his assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was in charge of four games pending the arrival of Ruben Amorim.

Amorim arrived in Manchester on November 11 and has since met some of the players who didn't go on national duty and fans during his tour at Old Trafford.

Amorim has traits Ten Hag didn't have

It is now emerging that the Portuguese head coach has already impressed his bosses with a key trait that his predecessor lacked.

Amorim has displayed 'charisma' and 'an air of self-assurance' in his first few days on the job.

The impromptu photo-op with fans at Old Trafford brought his charismatic side to the fore as he chatted with them.

The Mirror adds that Ten Hag lacked these traits in 2021 when Tottenham interviewed him for the head coach role.

In his first interview and address to fans, Amorim promised to work tirelessly to take the club back to where it belongs.
