The Black Stars finished at the bottom of Group F with just three points, recording three draws and three losses. Angola topped the group alongside Sudan, coached by Kwesi Appiah, who claimed second place.

Ghana's AFCON hopes were dashed after a 2-1 defeat to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024. Sudan’s goalless draw with Angola secured their qualification, leaving Ghana to reflect on one of its poorest campaigns.

While the reason for the unpaid salaries remains unclear, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is reportedly engaging the Ministry of Youth and Sports to address the issue.

Meanwhile, Otto Addo has been summoned by the GFA to present a technical report on the team’s performance on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

The outcome of this meeting is expected to determine the 47-year-old coach’s future with the team.

Otto Addo apologises to Ghanaians

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Black Stars coach Otto Addo has apologised to Ghanaians after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Black Stars finished bottom of Group F after a defeat to Niger in the final round of games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.

It is the first time in two decades that the four-time African champions will be missing the flagship continental championship.
