Nana Ama McBrown going back to school for a degree

Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown is on record to have disclosed that she never sat for the Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE) because she dropped out of school during her second year at the Junior High School level.

For a Junior High dropout, it could be said that she has done very well for herself and should therefore be content with her current status.

Looking at profession, her only real need for formal education would have been the ability to speak English which she does perfectly even as a drop out.

But the star actress is still considering enrolling in school to acquire a certificate for herself.

Her motivation, she has said, is the fact that a lot of premium is place on academic certificates in recent times and she would also love to have one.

According to her, she has decided to squeeze time off her very tight schedule to educate herself and also boast of that degree which she never had.

I am thinking of going to GIMPA even if it is for evening sessions to also get that degree”, she revealed.

Her resolve to attend school should not come as a surprise as she had hinted of possibly going back to school when she revealed being a school dropout while addressing some students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) about a month ago.

"Me I don’t have the degree or the educational certificates but I will do them some day" she said while urging students "not to allow challenges like this [inability to attend school] to weigh you down. Be yourself and do not strife to be like Nana Ama McBrown because you will remain in my shadow if you want to be like me”.

Born Felicia Ama Agyemang, the actress who changed her name upon a branding advise given her by her aunt's husband dropped out of school because her "parents were unable to finance my education. I don’t have a certificate even though I wish I had”.
