The entire 37 Military Hospital has even been seen by the Ghana Forestry Commission as a tourist attraction with officials warning against the termination of these bats.

But how did these bats at the hospital come about, who brought them there?

Well, a story dating back to colonial times has it that these bats had followed a chief from a village in the Eastern Regional town of Kibi to the 37 Military Hospital where he was admitted.

Unfortunately, the chief died and left these bats waiting for him since them. It's been decades now and these birds are still at the hospital.
