Armed Forces Senior High School contacts
The school is officially known as the Ghana Armed Forces Senior High Technical School. The Armed Forces Senior High School was established to provide the service workforce of the Ghana Armed Forces in the Northern command with education.
The Armed Forces Senior High School Kumasi initially started out as a day school but later it was advanced to both day and boarding senior high school. This subsequent to the creating of hostels in September 1997. The hostels were built for the initial 50 final year students and since then the school has been offering boarding services to students.
Armed Forces Senior High School history
The school was established on January 28th in the year 1991. It was part of of the 146 senior schools that were in the country at that time. When the school was just starting out, it had only 23 students of which 17 of them were boys and 6 were girls. They also started out with just six teachers. Currently, there are 1800 students displaying a vibrant and commendable growth over the years.
The school had only technical and vocational programmes when it was just beginning until the year 1995 when business studies was officially introduced in the school’s curriculum. In 1997, secretariat and general arts studies were also introduced in the school as well as elective science and also general agriculture studies which were introduced in the year 2003.
In 2006/2007 of the academic year, the school was given the approval of being of day and boarding school by the Ghana Education Service.

The school has a slogan which is Mmarima -Mma which means excellence. The school also stand on the motto of service with humility. The school believes that education is only sensible when it is directed toward serving humanity and serving with humility.
They have a mission to bring forth a well rounded, disciplined, purposeful individual who are not only useful to the community but to themselves as well. In order to do, they provide a wide range of studies and extra co-curriculum activities.

Ghana Armed Forces Senior High Technical School Accra services
The school offers teaching in many departments, each department has a good number of the teaching staff and so the students can get enough teaching aid in their studies.
1. Business department
It has a total of seven staff members and the department offers four elective subjects that include, Cost accounting, Financial accounting, Integrated business management, Economics that alternate with elective mathematics.
2. General science
This department is also included in the Kumasi Armed Forces Senior High School. It has a total of 19 staff members who teach in three science subjects which include Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
3. The social studies department
It has a Geography, Economics, History, Sociology and Civics education. All of the subjects are taught by professionally trained teachers.
4. Mathematics department
This has been the most vibrant subject in the school. It is differentiated in to two categories, the core mathematics and the elective mathematics. All the students learn mathematics but 65% take elective mathematics. The department has a total of 17 staff members.
6. Languages department
This department teaches English and French. It has shown tremendous growth over the years in teaching and also learning.
7. The home economics department
It has been in the school’s department for the last ten years. It deals with food and nutrition, clothing and textiles,management in living and also general knowledge in arts and chemistry.
8. The General Arts department
It consists of general arts one, general arts two and general arts three. The subjects offered under this department include Economics, elective Maths,elective French, music and history and government.
9. The ICT department
This is considered as the most important of them all in the Armed Forces Senior High School. This is because it provides crucial services to the whole school.
10. The Technical and Visual Arts departments
In this department, it is where the technical department deals with applied electricity, building construction metal works and also wood works.
