Roads Minister asks to be struck dead if he ever embezzled funds meant for his constituency

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Atta is denying that he is enriching himself with monies meant for development in the area. Amoako Atta ithe legislator says he has never stolen from his constituents.

Amoako Atta who is also the Member of Parliament for Atewa West, was speaking at the Farmer's Day celebration to some members of his constituency at Akyem Bomaa.

The minister denied any wrongdoing and swore to God to strike him dead if his claims were found to be false.

Ghanaweb.com, who first filed the story, quoted the Amoako Atta as saying: “I have been speaking in churches and before Nananom who are Spirit so I would have been struck dead if have been lying to my constituents all these while.

God should take my life if I have ever stolen even Ghc10 meant for my constituents. God should take my life! God should take my life if as an MP I have robbed my constituency”.

The minister however charged the traditional leaders to desist from positioning themselves to benefit from illegal mining in the towns they lead.

Amoako Atta promised to fulfill his job as diligently as he has started.
