Residents harvest water from mysterious tree in Adidome, Volta Region (Video)

YEN.com.gh is in possession of a video in which some residents of Adidome in the Volta Region are seen fetching water from a tree.

In the video, the tall tree which is called “Kporkplor” in the Ewe language, has an outlet from which water flows just like a tap.

YEN.com.gh observed that the water is colourless just like normal water, and from the way the residents formed a queue to fetch some, it was safe for use.

Women were seen carrying basins of all sizes waiting for their turn to fetch some of the water.

Our checks revealed that there was a commercial tap nearby which was actually connected to the tree.

People in the area came to fetch water from that house, however, owners of the tap did not want to go through the daunting task of helping each and everyone who came to fetch water carry on their head.

Therefore, they employed that tree strategy so that patrons would stand under it and fetch their water while already carrying their basins.
