Meet the man who wants to run for President of Ghana as an independent candidate

- Marricke Kofi Gane is a UK based Ghanaian accountant

- He has announced his decision to contest in the Presidential race in the 2020 elections as an Independent Presidential Candidate

Social media went wild following an announcement by Marricke Kofi Gane that he will run for President in 2020 as an independent candidate.

The International Development expert will contest as an Independent Presidential Candidate (IPC).

Many Ghanaians appear not to know too much about him, but he boasts the perfect resume for the position.

Mr. Kofi Gane is an experienced head when it comes to managing global innovation and development funds.

He is also a Chartered Certified Accountant and comes across as a man who prioritize accountability.

He is a passionate Ghanaian who believes the nation should always be put first no matter the situation.

In a video released to declare his intention of contesting the 2020 presidential election, he said he is here to put Ghana first.

I am here to put Ghana first, because Ghana deserves better! Because you deserve better! Because we deserve better,” he stated.

Mr. Kofi Gane believes it’s time to change the status quo and for the youth to get more involved in national issues.

Our generation is a bridge – the only remaining bridge between the truncated dreams of our forebears and the eager hopes of posterity unborn.

“We have no choice but to disrupt every faulty status quo and make Ghana work for all of us. It is a grave burden that will demand more from all of us collectively. God has indeed blessed our homeland Ghana. It is we, who must now make her great and strong,” he added.

It is well known that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are the only two political parties to have tasted power in the Fourth Republic.

However, Mr. Kofi Gane believes he has what it takes to break this duopoly as an independent candidate.
