- The Ghanaian model urged her followers not to define themselves or beauty from the perspective of others
In a recent Instagram post by Jessica Larny, the Ghanaian actress and model amplified the ideas of self-love and self-worth while urging people not to define beauty from other people's perspectives or how others see them.
Jessica Larny has been on a campaign against the social stigma of fat or body shamming which she reveals, is a challenge in the modelling industry with plus-size models as the 'victims'.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Ghanaian model indicated in an Instagram post that she never understood why women with 'thick' bodies and thighs are ‘considered fat’.
Larny shared some revealing photos along with captions to urge plus-size women to love their bodies.
''I believe every woman's body is beautiful in its own way. I have never understood that just because a woman has thick thighs, she is considered fat. For so long, I've been around in the modeling world and have tried to break that barrier.''
She continued: ''But I think now it's turning around. I got scouted for modeling on the street. I'm such a tomboy - still am. I just never thought about modeling before, but I thought, 'Ooh, interesting, similar world, perhaps it's a way into something.' In modeling, I had to learn to like myself, to love myself, to feel comfortable.'' Jessica stated on Instagram.
Jessica Larny’s latest post also encourages people not to define who they are through other people’s perception of them. Or define beauty through the lenses of others.
She wrote: ''The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are, and not who people think you are.
My greatest beauty secret is being happy with myself. I don't use special creams or treatments - I'll use a little bit of everything. It's a mistake to think you are what you put on yourself. I believe that a lot of how you look is to do with how you feel about yourself and your life. Happiness is the greatest beauty secret.''
