A memorial service has been scheduled for February 24, 2020, to celebrate the lives of basketball legend Kobe and daughter Gianna Bryant.
The ceremony will be held in the morning at Staples Center in Los Angeles, USA.
The date is significant, having been chosen from the jersey numbers won by Kobe (No.24), and Number 2 for Gianna.

Gianna Bryant’s jersey, according to reports, was retired by Harbor Day School in Corona Del Mar, California, on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
Fans swarmed Staples Center within hours of the crash, creating a massive memorial of flowers, balloons, jerseys, stuffed toys, and basketballs.
The items were removed Monday and fans were urged to donate to a Bryant foundation rather than bring more gifts and flowers.

Bryant’s widow, Vanessa, has shown courage and strength in these trying times.
She had requested some items, which were to be cataloged and shipped to the family.
Flowers will be composted and spread around plants near Staples Center.
Kobe and Gianna met their untimely death on January 26, 2020, when he was escorting her to a training ground for basketball practice.

In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, we published Bryant’s last words to his daughters promising to be the best dad.
Death, however, did not allow him to continue being the best dad as he had to be cut off prematurely from his family.
