Daniel Kwame Asante, 14, a resident of Akatsi in the Volta Region is appealing for support to raise a cash amount of GHC75,420 for Kyphoscoliosis spine surgery.
Celebritiesbuzz.com.gh reports that the ailing teenager and his mother, Kumah Esenam, have asked the general public and other NGOs to donate to help them raise GHC75,420 for Daniel Asante’s spine surgery at the FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in Accra.
Daniel Kwame Asante, who is staying with his single mother at Akatsi in the Volta Region was diagnosed with a medical condition called Kyphoscoliosis at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in February 2019.
Kyphoscoliosis is a deformity of the spine characterized by abnormal curvature of the vertebral column in two planes.
Although Doctors have advised that the surgery should be done as soon as possible to enable him walk properly again, Kumah Esenam and his family have said they cannot foot the medical bill for the surgery.
As a result, Kwame Asante has returned home because his mother and other family members could not raise the required amount.
The teenager is currently with his mother, counting on hope and the benevolence of society to raise the money.
Kwame Asante’s family is appealing to the general public to come to their aid with cash donations as his situation could get worse if an early spine surgery is not done.
