Sometimes people have to create paths for themselves and with a little help, they can make a success.

One man, uTata Matshaya, has started his own strawberry farm in the Khayelitsha township. His inspiring story was shared by the Township Farmers group on Facebook.

Township Farmers supports Matshaya with his endeavour by donating the tools that he needs to succeed, including eco pellets, seedlings, compost and organic fertiliser.

The post added:

"With no source of income and work experience he started growing his own veggies and slowly got into community farming projects where he learned valuable skills which he used to start his own home garden where he now not only grows strawberries but a variety of fruit trees like apple and peach trees."
