Early life

The talented player was born on September 11, 1991, in France. He is the son of Maha Ayew and Abedi Pelé. His father is the President of Nania FC. His has three brothers who are known as Ibrahim who plays for Europa FC, Imani, and André of Swansea City.

He is the nephew of Kwame Ayew who is retired and Sola. His brothers and most of his extended male relatives are either former or current footballers. He is a practising Muslim.

He grew up in Ghana, and at the age of 9 years, his love for the game was undeniable. His father was in the football career, and he had grown up watching football games on TV. He then joined the Lyon-Duchére’s youth academy. He spent six years gathering ample skills for the game.

Career

Throughout his successful football career, he has played for several clubs such as Marseille, Sochaux (on loan), and Lorient. The player joined Marseille in 2006 as a trainee at only the age of 13 years. In 2009, he was signed to his first professional three-year contract with the club.

In 2011, both the player and his brother started a UEFA Champions League match against Premier League Arsenal. In 2014, he joined the Ligue 1 rivals Sochaux on a loan deal until the end of the 2013-2014 season.

He then signed a four-year contract with Lorient in July 2014. In July 2015, the player joined Aston Villa for a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. In October 2015, Jordan scored his first goal for the team, against his brother’s team, in the 62nd minute. In 2017, he joined Swansea City in exchange for Welsh International defender, Neil Taylor.

In June 2012, he scored his first and second international goals during the 2014 World Cup qualification match against Lesotho that was held in Ghana. In December 2011, the talented player was named to the Ghana national team provisional 25-man squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. In January 2012, he was chosen for the tournament’s 23-man squad.

In 2014, he was included in the Ghanaian squad for the 2014 World Cup. In 2015, he was part of the national cup team in Equatorial Guinea that went home with a silver medal as a result of losing to Ivory Coast during a penalty session.
