John Dumelo is running against Lydia Seyram Alhassan who is the incumbent member of parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.

She was voted in 2019 to replace her husband who was then the seating MP before his untimely death after a short illness.

Dumelo seems to be a strong competition for Lydia Alhassan as he has undertaken several social intervention initiatives in the constituency all in the bid to cease the Ayawaso seat from the incumbent.
