Anthony Rendon's baseball career began when he was a college freshman. He was Baseball America's Freshman of the Year, All-America, Freshman All-American, and NCBWA's District VII Player of the Year in 2009. In 2010, as a sophomore, he won the Dick Howser Trophy and became Baseball America's College Player of the Year.

The baseball player won many individual awards at the college level, including:

Major League Baseball

Anthony Rendon started playing in the MLB in 2013 for the Washington Nationals. The team had chosen him through a sixth overall selection of the 2011 MLB draft. His first match of the 2013 season was with the Double-A Harrisburg Senators. At the end of his first season, he had put up seven home runs across 98 games.

During his second season in 2014, he started playing as a third baseman for the Washington Nationals. He helped the team to put up impressive stats, including the most runs scored.

The club rewarded him by voting him fifth in the National League Most Valuable Player and getting the Silver Slugger for his performances. Although he did not win the award, outsiders saw him as one of the key players in the team's offence.

In his third season, he suffered a couple of injuries that saw him miss several games. He fist sprained his medial collateral ligament in the left knee and later strained an oblique muscle during rehab. After recovering, he returned to play in the MLB on 4 May 2015.

At the end of the season, he played 80 regular-season games. But he did not perform well because of the oblique injury he had experienced that reduced his energy. Throughout that period, he managed five runs.

Anthony improved his gameplay during his fourth (2016) and fifth (2017) seasons with the Washington Nationals. In 2016, he returned in full form and ended the campaign with 20 home runs. He also appeared in six regular-season matches for the Nationals and played as the third base for the entire campaign. Rendon became National League Comeback Player of the Year.

In 2017, he set a record as the third player in the MLB's history to attain six hits and ten RBI in the same game. Rendon stayed with the Washington Nationals for two more seasons of 2018 and 2019.
