Boy abandoned from hospital for being 'too anemic' makes it to UG School of Law

- A young boy named Kweku Apraku Agyepong who nearly died of anemia after he was abandoned from a hospital now lives a miraculous life

- Kweku is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) at the University of Ghana School of Law

- In his final year at St. Augustine's College, Kweku was indisposed from school and had to finish his studies on his own before making it

Kweku Apraku Agyepong is a student of the University of Ghana, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB), who as a child, struggled with his health as he was anaemic.

At one point, in his childhood, he fell so sick and his mother was asked by the doctors of Korle Bu teaching hospital to take him home to die because there was no hope.

Defying all odds he miraculously survived.

He attended the Bishop Bowers School for his primary education and St Augustine's College for his secondary education where he was adjudged best student in History, Literature in English, Government, Christian Religious Studies and, Information and Communication Technology.

In his final year at St. Augustine's, he was indisposed from school and had to finish his studies on his own.

He taught himself his subjects since his parents could not afford remedial classes and without writing any mock paper, went on to write the WASSCE and passed with flying colours thus gaining admission to read law in the University of Ghana.

Upon joining the student community of the University of Ghana, he joined the debate society and has excelled on that front.

Some of the awards he has claimed as a debater include Winner of the Novice Division of the Ghana Universities Debate Championship, 7th Best Public Speaker at the Pan African Universities Debate Championship, Winner of the SRC Inter Hall Debate Championship and Winner of the 2020 UGDS Cup Competition.

He crowned it all off by beating representatives of a host of World-Class Universities to claim the enviable title as the World Public Speaking Champion at the 2020 World Universities Debate Championship in Thailand.

Kweku Apraku Agyepong does not only debate but has been instrumental in many wins for the University of Ghana School of Law.

When he was just in his 3rd year, he represented the University of Ghana School of Law at the Law Challenge where he and his team beat other competitors to win the ultimate prize of the competition.

He also coached the intellectual property law team which placed second in the African Intellectual Property Competition after battling it out with students from all across the continent.

In December, he and his partner, Maureen Kyere came as first runners up in the 2020 All Africa Human Rights Moot Court Competition.

In the same competition, they won the category for the best memorial and second-best team. Kweku Agyepong took the best oralist category, making the University and the Country proud.

He also led his group, Rebel Legal, to win the best memorial for the 2020 University of Ghana Inter-Firm Moot Court Competition.

Though he struggles with financial support, he hopes to finish his legal education with flying colours and then proceed to read his masters in petroleum and energy sector management.

He has had to take to teaching persons, selling books and cosmetics among other odd jobs to keep him in school.

However, this has not deterred him from his dream of becoming one of the greatest lawyers this country has ever seen.

He continues to volunteer and help poor persons in the Gomoa Traditional Area to access higher education through volunteering with the Youthbuild Avid Foundation.

In other news, renowned Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has bashed his industry colleague, Shatta Wale on his verified Twitter handle.

Sarkodie, as readers would recall, just finished his rapperholic concert whose advertisement had gone viral for its high and exorbitant prices.

Just after the concert, Shatta Wale put up a congratulatory post on Twitter for Sarkodie, and jokingly asking whether he was missed by the rapper.
