Royal family blues: Choir leader who sang at Meghan Markle's wedding backs Prince Charles
- The choir leader, Karen Gibson of the Kingdom Choir, who sang at Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018 has said that she struggles to believe that Prince Charles is racist
- According to Gibson, her choir was booked by Prince Charles who was very polite and respectful
- Her statement comes after Meghan Markle revealed in an Oprah Winfrey interview that she had been subjected to racism by certain members of the royal family
Karen Gibson, the choir leader of The Kingdom choir, a choir that performed at Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding has shown her support for Prince Charles and subsequently the royal family after Markle alleged that she had experienced racism at the hands of certain royals.
Gibson, who was invited by Prince Charles himself to come and perform at the wedding, says that she refuses to believe that he is racist. According to Gibson, Prince Charles was very gracious and supportive when he contacted the choir to perform.
Gibson's statements about Prince Charles come after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did a widely covered interview with talk show host Oprah Winfrey during which Markle revealed certain members of the royal family questioned her about the tone of her the-unborn baby, Archie.
Meanwhile, Twitter users have had this to say about Gibson's statements:
@nolanisk said:
"Karen Gibson says Prince Charles can’t be racist because he personally invited them to sing at Meghan’s wedding. It hits different when the “I’m not racist I have black friend’s” defense comes from someone Black. Damn shame."
@Annies_Pretzels said:
"Charles knew Harry and Meghan wanted a gospel choir for their wedding; someone Charles knows also knows Karen Gibson, and that person recommended them to Charles. The rest is history."
YEN.com.gh previously reported Prince William, the older brother of Prince Harry, has finally shared his thoughts on the viral interview that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did with talk show giant Oprah Winfrey that was aired earlier this month.
On Thursday this week, Prince William echoed words from a statement released by the royal family earlier this week which said that the royal family was not at all racist.
Meanwhile, various internet users who had been watching the drama unfold since Markle claimed she had been subjected to racism at the hands of certain royals, quickly headed online to share their thoughts on William denying these claims while speaking to a Sky News reporter.
