Kasoa Sakawa Murder: Grandfather Of 18-Year-Old Supect Nicholas Kini Speaks In Video

Nicholas Kini, one of the suspects in the Kasoa 'sakawa' murder case, was recently arrested for theft, his grandfather Noah Kini has revealed.

According to Mr Kini, his grandson was accused of stealing an amount of $10,000 belonging to an Alhaji just four months ago.

The grandfather explained that the Alhaji had sent Nicholas to sweep his room but found out that the money had gone missing and Nicholas was deemed as a suspect.

The grandfather stated that Nicholas had to spend some days in police custody before being released.

Nicholas, 18, and one other teenager, Felix Nyarko, are standing trial for the murder of a 10-year-old boy, Ishmael Mensah Abdallah, at Kasoa.

According to reports, the two had killed Ishmael with the intention of using his body parts for money-making rituals (sakawa).

It was while reacting to the remand sentence that Nicholas' grandfather disclosed it to be the boy's second incident with the police within a few months.

In the interview, the disturbed grandfather revealed that Nicholas was once a good boy who liked to go to church.

He blamed his grandson's change in character on the effects of the bad company the boy has been keeping.

Meanwhile, a video from the final funeral rites of 10-year-old Ishmael has popped up online.

The funeral which is currently underway at Kasoa has seen many people in attendance.

The mortal remains of the young boy have been conveyed to his family house for burial rites before he is finally laid to rest.
