Popular Ghanaian actress, Akuapem Poloo, born Rosemond Brown, has been handed a 90-day jail sentence by the Accra Circuit Court over a naked photo with her son.

The mother of one posted the naked picture with her son on Instagram to celebrate his seventh (7th) birthday.

Pronouncing the judgement, Christina Cann indicated that she was unhappy with the alarming rate with which nudity has been normalised in the country’s social media space.

She noted that it is important the court sends a clear message to everyone about how wrong it is to do that on social media.

The judge added that the actress is being punished to serve as a disincentive to others.

Akuapem Poloo's 90 days sentence handed over to her by the court has erupted mixed views from Ghanaians with some being against the court's decision and others in favour of the ruling.

Popular Facebook vlogger, Archipalagod writes, ''Saw this and I kept advising Akuapem Poloo from time but she didn’t listen.. look what happened now!''

''As Akuapem Poloo en case come some people out here are trying to be sensible but enfa. Orlando and Gyata Shoa please stop making us laugh,'' @drayy09 said.

Reacting to Poloo's jail term, CorrosiveRules indicated that the photographer must also be imprisoned.

''If them jail Akuapem Poloo for 90 days, a swear dem for jail the photographer too for 60 days.''

Huclark noted that Poloo had to be checked.

He writes, ''When fame gets into your head you start to do crazy stuff for clout. The fame got into Akuapem Poloo's head.''

The midwife was captured with some residents carrying an expectant mother in labour on the makeshift wooden door to a distant clinic in the Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region.
