“Never, it wasn’t harsh, the judge was within her limit,” Vortia who’s the lawyer for Poloo told GHOne TV’s Serwaa Amihere on Wednesday.

Poloo was granted bail on Wednesday pending an appeal in the sum of GHc80,000 with two sureties.

She is to report to the case investigator every two weeks as well as deposit her passport with the registrar of the court.

Vortia filed the notice for the appeal and application for bail on Monday, April 19, 2021.

The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court heard the bail application.

In an earlier YEN.com.gh report, Vortia said the actress’ case was bad.

As a result, he said Poloo was advised to plead guilty, departing from an earlier not guilty plea.

“When we were at the case management case stage, we evaluated all the evidence against her (pictorial) in the witness statement and we realised that we don’t have a good case,” Vortia told the media.

An Accra Circuit on Friday, April 16, sentenced the actress for publishing obscene material to 90 days in prison.

Christina Cann, the judge who sat on the case highlighted her worry about the proliferation of nude photos and video on social media during the delivery of the sentence.

Opinionated Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, backed the jailing of the actress.

“…She should have been given one year,” he stated on ‘The Seat’ show on his Net2 television.

He said the actress’ conduct was “very cheap”, stressing that “anyone who poses naked should be jailed.”

“As for me, if you are a celebrity, I don’t have a problem, but there should be some respect, some decorum.
“No woman can talk about this disgusting thing that your fellow woman has done. It is shameful,” he stated.

In a related development, a throwback video of the time Poloo's loving mother sang and danced to Running by Chike for her daughter popped up after the former's sentencing.

The video sighted by YEN.com.gh on social media showed the actress and her look-alike mother standing in what looked like their living room.

The portion of the song that said "I'd be right beside you like the walls of Jericho," saw the loving mother hugging her daughter to prove that she would never leave her side.
