His family gathered at his private residence after making Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s demise public.

In an Instagram video, Kwadwo Safo Jnr could not hold back his tears as many people in the house lamented over the death of “Kantanka, the African Star.”

He held on to a woman who was wearing a black dress and wept. Kwadwo Safo Jnr wore shades which covered his eyes.

However, after the long hug with the woman who was also crying, Kwadwo Safo Jnr lifted his head from her shoulder and aligned his shades. He then sniffed, an action which is often characteristic of people crying and walked away from the crowd.

He then moved to exchange pleasantries with some mourners present at the gathering.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo dead

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Apostle Kwadwo Safo had died. He passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

A statement signed by Sarah Adwoa Safo, the daughter of the deceased, stated that the family will communicate the burial details to the public at the appropriate time.

Osebo cries at Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s residence

Family and relatives had started visiting the private residence of Apostle Kwadwo Safo after the news of his demise was made public.

One of his loyal followers, Richard Brown, a popular Ghanaian fashionista popularly called Osebo the Zara Man, went to the late Apostle’s private residence to commiserate with the family.

The Ghanaian fashionista was seated close to the family and children of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

In a video, Osebo began crying and used his shades to cover up his tears. He intermittently raised his head to hold back his tears, but he could not. A woman knelt by Osebo and started to cry. That caused Osebo to allow the tears to flow even as he comforted the woman.

Osebo has never hidden his admiration and reverence for Apostle Kwadwo Safo. He once described the man as his god and admonished people to pray through Safo Kantanka and not Jesus.

Sarkodie mourns Apostle Kwadwo Safo

YEN.com.gh reported that Ghanaian musician Sarkodie paid tribute to the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Sarkodie said Apostle Kwadwo Safo had contributed his quota to the Ghanaian economy and industries.

The BET winner and acclaimed rapper described the deceased Apostle as a "true star of Africa" and rallied Ghanaians to pay their last respects to the fallen hero.

Some social media users reacted to Sarkodie's emotional post shared on the X platform.
