The 54-year-old's first marriage, which she got into through a church wedding at the age of 17, ended after nine years.

Walked away after 9 years

According to Daily Monitor, Mbabazi chose to walk out of the marriage over never-ending insults from her sisters-in-law.

"My husband's relatives were rude and impatient because I was not getting pregnant. They brought me untold misery, so I decided to go back to my parents' home," she started.

For the next four years, the then-26-year-old divorcee remained single until she met and fell in love with a different man.

She chose to give parenting another try and got married to the man who already had three children from a previous marriage.

2nd marriage lasted 10 years

Mbabazi discloses that as much as she loved the three stepchildren like her own, she always craved for the day she would have a biological child.

Sadly, the story was not any different in the new marriage as she stayed for another 10 years without conceiving.

Despite the drama happening in her life, Mbabazi was lucky to have a supportive father who went to great lengths to seek treatment for her.

"My father hated the fact that I was unable to have a child and was willing to do anything to help me realise the dream," she continued.

Father sold cows to help

One of the biggest things her father did was sell his cows to pay medicine men whom he thought would help, but none managed to change things.

Mbabazi was crushed when her father, who was her main support system, died and left her facing the stigma alone.

Just like in her first marriage, the in-laws started tormenting her over her "barrenness," so much that she, once again, chose to walk away.

Mbabazi reveals that as much as losing her second marriage over the same issue was not easy, she gave up when one of the traditional healers asked her to sleep with him.

A new beginning

She sold all her belongings and moved to a different town looking for a fresh start where she met two women who told her about a doctor whom they believed would help.

The doctor diagnosed her problem as fibroids and performed surgery on her, after which she underwent In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).

In April 2022, Mbabazi was beyond overjoyed when she started having severe morning sickness and a pregnancy test came out positive.

"At six months of the pregnancy, I was told I that I was going to be a mother of three boys," she recalled with nostalgia.
