Residents Plan Homecoming Party For Graduate, His Parents Were Dressed Modestly

A village in Bomet county is set to throw a grand party for Dominic, a young cadet who recently graduated from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and his parents.

Dominic's parents beat all odds to attend his graduation, and their photo with the younger man captured the hearts and minds of Kenyans.

The photo went viral, with many people hailing the parents for making it to the passing out ceremony of their son despite not having the razz matas, usually associated with affluent families during graduations.

Dominic starts career from NYS

Although the passing out ended, things are just beginning in their Bomet backyard as a committee has been put in place to plan the grand bash for them.

"Welcome to his homecoming ceremony on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home in Kataret- Kapindisin village," said Kibet Ronda, a relative.
"Friends, relatives and neighbours came together to plan the party for them.Dominic has come from far; he started all the way from the National Youth Service (NYS) in 2019 to 2023. The family comes from a humble background and don't own much but they have tried their best," Ronda told TUKO.co.ke in an interview.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a Ghanaian father went viral after he carried his son on his back during his graduation ceremony in a display of pride for his achievement.

His gesture left many who were present at the scene in awe. Some beamed with smiles, while others cheered both father and son on.

Netizens who thronged the comment could not hide their admiration for the proud father.
