Manchester United have completed the signing of Edinson Cavani on a free transfer on deadline day.
The 33-year-old joined the Red Devils on a one-year deal as a free agent having parted ways with Paris Saint Germain in June.
He becomes the third player to arrive Old Trafford after Donny can de Beek and Alex Telles this transfer window.
Cavani's arrival will help United improve in front of goal especially after suffering a 6-1 defeat to ruthless Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday, October 4.
They also kicked off their 2020-21 season on a bad note after a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on home turf.
While confirming his arrival on their official website, the Old Trafford outfit confirmed they have an option to extend his reign at the club by another year.
The Uruguay international won six league titles with Paris Saint-Germain and scored200 goals in the process - becoming their all-time leading scorer.
Cavani who led his national team to Copa America glory in 2011 - scoring 50 times in 116 appearances. He said while reacting to his move to England:
“Manchester United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, so it is a real honour to be here. I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club.
“I have played in front of some of the most passionate supporters in football during my career and I know that it will be the same in Manchester. I cannot wait to experience the Old Trafford atmosphere, when it is safe for the fans to return.
