Hopes were high after the Ghanaian quartet had lit up the semi-finals, storming to victory with a new national record and the fastest qualifying time of all nations.

The team of Ibrahim Fuseini, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu clocked 37.79 seconds in the heats, fueling genuine belief that a podium finish was within reach.
But in the final, small margins proved costly. Ghana registered 37.93 seconds, a strong performance but just 0.04 seconds shy of the bronze medal.
The result left the sprinters disappointed but still respected for their consistency and competitive showing against the world’s best.

The United States once again underlined their dominance on the global stage, taking gold in a blistering 37.29 seconds, the fastest time recorded anywhere in the world this year, per Olympics.com.
Their star-studded lineup, Noah Lyles, Christian Coleman, Kenny Bednarek, and Courtney Lindsey, defended the title they had claimed in Budapest the previous year.
According to Supersport, Canada, anchored by Olympic champion Andre De Grasse, powered to silver with 37.55 seconds, while the Netherlands made history of their own by securing bronze in a national record of 37.81 seconds.

This was a thrilling end to a spectacular evening of athletics, and a fine way to bring the curtain down on the track events at Tokyo 25.
For Ghana, the fourth-place finish was bittersweet: no medal to show for their efforts, but proof that they belong firmly among the elite relay nations.
Ghanaian journalist hails Team Ghana
Ghanaian journalist Yaw Ofosu Larbi, reporting from Tokyo, praised Team Ghana’s performance in the men’s 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Championships, calling it a remarkable milestone despite missing out on a medal.
“This is a truly remarkable achievement,” Larbi told YEN.com.gh. “Even though Ghana finished fourth, it marks the best position in the nation’s history at the World Championships.”
He added:
“The boys may not have stepped onto the podium, but they have written a new chapter for Ghanaian athletics. This performance should make every Ghanaian proud.”
Ghana makes history with a national record

The quartet of Ibrahim Fuseini, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah and Abdul Rasheed Saminu clocked 37.79 seconds, surpassing the old mark of 38.07 set at the 2022 edition in Eugene.
Their time was the fastest across all heats, raising hopes of a medal on the global stage.
