Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United in 2021 started well but it ended in disaster.
Red Devils legend and their former coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has lift the lid on whether signing Ronaldo was the correct decision.
Solskjaer arrived at Old Trafford in 2018 as the caretaker boss and was later given a permanent job before getting sacked in 2021.
The treble-winner led the club to the Europa League final and a second-place finish in the Premier League (2020/21) but was fired a season later.
Many feel after signing an ageing Ronaldo, the project went backwards. He recently opened up on the signing of the club legend.
"I spoke to Cristiano, we get him to Man United, but I think that maybe affected the whole dressing room, the dynamics in the dressing room, and maybe other players felt less important because of course this is one of the world's superstars that comes in," he said via Sportbible.
"He did well, he was top scorer that year, he scored 24 goals or something, but I was out of a job 10 weeks later."
Ronaldo would leave the club a year later after publicly falling out with current boss Erik ten Hag. He joined Al-Nassr after blasting the Dutchman in an explosive interview with Piers Morga, per Sky Sports.
Will Solskjaer return to Man United?
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Solskjaer teased a potential return to Man United, three years after his departure.
In the midst of this uncertainty, the former United manager has expressed a desire to return to Old Trafford. The Norwegian has been out of a job since his dismissal in November 2021.
Ronaldo's advice to Erik ten Hag
YEN.com.gh also reported that Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo offered advice to Man United and coach Erik ten Hag.
The Al-Nassr star aimed a thinly veiled criticism at Erik ten Hag for his remarks suggesting that Manchester United are not in contention for major titles this season.
