Ecuador International Marco Angulo Dead at 22 After Car Accident

22-year-old Ecuador footballer Marco Angulo has succumbed to injuries after a car accident that happened earlier last month.

The young midfielder was a passenger in a car that was involved in a collision in the early hours of October 7. The driver, fellow footballer player Roberto Cabezas, died in the crash.

He was rushed to hospital and underwent surgery to release the pressure caused by the trauma.

According to Metro Sport, the exciting midfielder also suffered a lung contusion.

His club, LDU Quito, released a statement confirming his death. Thousands of fans have shared their condolences.

"With deep pain and sadness, we regret to report the death of our beloved player Marco Angulo,’ LDU Quito said in a statement this morning."
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones."
"His departure is an irreparable loss that will leave an indelible mark on our hearts. Rest in peace."
