Ghana has quite a number of accredited higher learning institutions. You might find it confusing to tell which universities perform better than others. To save you the hustle, we have compiled a list of top Ghanaian universities that offer both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

Located in the city of Legon since its establishment in 1948, this university operates as a public non-profit institution. It is accredited by the National Accreditation Board, Ghana and has campuses in Accra City and Korle-Bu.

  • Courses: The University offers certificates, diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, masters and doctorate degrees in a variety of studies. Major studies include Health Sciences, Performing Arts, Engineering, Law, Social Studies and Business.

Second on the list of best universities in Ghana is another public, non-profit institution founded in 1951. Located in the city of Kumasi, the institution has campuses in Sunyani as well.

GTUC is one of the most recently established institutions in the list of Ghana’s best universities. Founded in 2006, GTUC is located in Accra and is also accredited by the National Accreditation Board.

Last but not least is a private institution located in Accra that was founded in 2001. Although not much information is public about this university, it receives applications from both national and international students and is among the 10 best universities in Ghana.
