Morgan International Community School was founded in 2013 by Mr. Obed Danquah and it is aimed at developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills in its students as per the example of its founder. As much as the school is quite young and with an immense potential for growth it has one of the best faculty to student ratios of any school in the country at 1 teacher for every 4 students. This is aided in part by the low enrollment of 80 students aged 11-18 years and 23 teachers. This tightly knit group with close student-teacher interaction gives the school a friendly feel making learning even more enjoyable. The school’s current student body consists of students from more than five countries including Germany, the UK, USA, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and of course Ghana.
Programmes offered at Morgan International Community School
Morgan International Community School offers a variety of programmes that all end in the award of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education. These tracks include:
1. Primary Grade 1 to 5
This is for students aged 6-11 years old. Mathematics and English are taught using the Cambridge programme while other subjects adhere to the International Primary Curriculum. This was opened in 2016 for the first time and is located at the Morgan International Community School East Legon campus.
2. Cambridge Secondary 1 (Grade 6,7 and 8)
This is a basis for Mathematics, Science and English as a first language. This programmed is intended to provide a basis for the first three years of secondary education.
3. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (Grade 9 and 10)
This is an English language curriculum that is offered to students in preparation for their International Baccalaureate diploma exams. It is on many occasions considered similar to GCSE, outside of MICS of course.
4. International Baccalaureate Diploma
The International Baccalaureate is a world renown qualification that can secure entry into many prestigious universities across the world and Morgan International School is an accredited IB Word School. Students that graduate with this are basically given the opportunity and means to access higher levels of education in most parts of the world.

Despite being part of a very short list of international schools in Accra, Morgan International Community School has a very simple admission process. The admission process requires one to take an assessment exam at the school after which, upon full analysis by the school, a student is offered a position. This analysis is not limited to academic performance but also encompasses a check of the student’s potential for growth at the school if they were given admission. The process is done within a week. The student placement is done by the school’s Admissions Office and the grade classification is done depending on age as follows;

All these are beginning on the first day of the respective academic years. This is however not always the case especially for Secondary level admissions. Morgan International Community School location
The school is located 6 km from Swedru off the Winneba/Swedru road. Coming from Winneba, find a town called Ekwamkrom. Once in the town follow the signage guiding you to MICS. This is only one of two locations for MICS. The second location is the Morgan International Community School East Legon situated near the Emmanuel Eye Clinic.
