English names of top Ghanaian celebrities and public figures

In Ghana, there are some celebrities and public figures who have English names that are not known by most people.

YEN.com.gh however cannot tell why such top personalities refuse to use their English names that some of them used while schooling.

It seems to many that such personalities do not have English names even though they do have them.

1. President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo

Akufo-Addo who is the current president of the Republic of Ghana has an English name that is not known by many.

Over the years since Akufo-Addo became popular on the political front, he has not revealed his English name.

It is however surprising for many to know that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has an English name.

Researches by YEN.com.gh reveals that the English name for Akufo-Addo is WILLIAM.

Akufo-Addo is called William but YEN.com.gh cannot tell why the president decided to omit his English name from his names.

2. Nana Aba Anamoah

Nana Aba who is currently a television program host at Accra based TV station, GH One TV has an English name that many Ghanaians do not know.

Nana Aba Anamoah is a household name in Ghana after she shot to fame as a Television newscaster at TV3.

Since she began coming into the limelight as a journalist and newscaster, Nana Aba never mentioned her English name on screen.

Thus a lot of Ghanaians do not know that Nana Aba Anamoah has an English name that she used in school and on some of her official documents.

3. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo who is currently the Minister for Information and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi has an English name that is not known to most Ghanaians.

Before entering into active politics and becoming a member of parliament, Kojo was the host of popular radio morning show on Accra based radio station Joy FM.

On radio, Kojo never mentioned his English name making a lot of people think that he does not have one at all.

However, researches done by YEN.com.gh revealed that Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has an English name called VINCENT.

Kojo's English name is Vincent but YEN.com.gh cannot tell why he decided not to include that in his names.

4. Nana Ama McBrown

Nana Ama McBrown who is currently one of the top actresses in Ghana has an English name that many do not know.

Over the years since she began acting till now, Nana Ama McBrow's English name has not popped up anywhere.

Thus a lot of people will be surprise to know that the ace actress actually has an English name.

Researches by YEN.com.gh revealed that English name for Nana Ama McBrown is FELICIA.

However, YEN.com.gh cannot tell why the actress has omitted her English name way back when she began acting.

5. Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Nii Lante Vanderpuye who is currently the member of parliament for Ododiodio Constituency has an English name that many do not know.

Over the years as a politician, English name for Nii Lante Vanderpuye has not popped up anywhere.

Many people will be surprise to know that the former minister for sports has an English name.

However, researches by YEN.com.gh has revealed that the English name for Nii Lante Vanderpuye is EDWIN.
