The inside story of how freed Aisha Huang shot and killed a Ghanaian

- Aisha Huang became powerful as the liaison officer between Ghana and the Chinese community

- She was a powerful galamsey kingpin who had connections in top places in Ghana

It has been revealed that galamsey queen, Aisha Huang was not only an illegal miner but also a ‘killer’ who meted out terror on competitors and persons she had misunderstanding with.

According to a former associate of the deported Chinese illegal miner, Christian Addo Kuffuor, he witness Aisha shooting and killing a number of competitor Chinese miners and a Ghanaian.

Speaking to Joy FM on Thursday, April 25, 2019, Christina said in one instance, Aisha shot and killed a Ghanaian instantly without blinking at night on a mining site.

When I heard they had remanded Aisha, I was shocked! Who are you to arrest Aisha? How can you dare arrest her,” Christian said in Twi, confirming how untouchable she was.

Christian recalled striking a working relationship with Aisha Huang through soldiers who asked him to help her illegal work. That was in 2011, he remembered. 

I have never done galamsey before,” he said.

He further narrated how Aisha will always get tip-off from security personnel — soldiers and police officers, some of them holding no small office.

He remembered one time, these collaborating army officers instructed him to mark the junction to Aisha’s illegal mining site with coloured used tyres.

Christian also opined in the revelation that Aisha Huang’s business thrived even when government put boots on the ground to stamp out illegal mining.

He said, soldiers would seize mining equipment such as excavators and hand them over to Aisha Huang to use and sometimes sell.

The Chinese illegal miners feared and hated Aisha,” he added.

Christian recalled how one time Aisha handed him a pump action gun with eight rounds of ammunition to finish off a Chinese competitor, ‘Son’ who had taken stock of brand new excavators which Aisha coveted.

“I was so afraid,” he said fully grasp with the possibility that resisting assignment could mean his own murder. Inside the forest, he found Son in a make-shift kitchen at the mining site and disclosed Aisha’s plan to have him killed.

He said, he would fire a warning shot and return to his boss with the excuse that he met only Ghanaian illegal miners but the main target was not around.

Aisha Huang, was a Chinese kingpin of illegal mining in Ghana. According to the senior minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, she was released in exchange for the $2 billion Sinohydro deal between Ghana and China.

But government has since come out to deny the senior minister’s assertion.
