- Speaker of the US House of Representative, Nancy Pelosi, has laid a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra

- She was accompanied by Congressional delegation as she walked into the mausoleum

The Speaker of the US House of Representatives has laid a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra, dedicated to Ghana's first President, Kwame Nkrumah on Monday, July 29, 2019.

Nancy Pelosi also signed the book of condolence on behalf of the government and people of the United States of America.

She was accompanied by Congressional delegation as she walked into the mausoleum.

The mausoleum used to house the only remains of Dr Kwame Nkrumah until 2007 when the body of his wife, Fathia Nkrumah’s was buried there.

After signing the book of condolence, Pelosi and her delegation visited the museum to appreciate some of the personal effects of Ghana’s First Family including some publications of Dr Nkrumah.
