All Regional education directors to get 4x4 vehicles - Education Minister

- All Regional Directors of Education in the country would be given 4×4 brand new vehicle before the close of 2019

- This, according to the Education minister, would help enhance their work

- In addition, every District Office of Education and Circuit Supervisor of Education would receive a pickup vehicle and a brand new motorbike

All Regional Directors of Education in the country would each be presented with a 4×4 brand new vehicles to enhance their work before the close of 2019.

In addition, every District Office of Education and Circuit Supervisor of Education would receive a pick-up vehicle and a brand new motorbike respectively.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, made the announcement during the opening of a two-day Orientation for Regional, District and Unit Directors of Education from the northern sector of the country.

The programme is aimed at helping the participants to understand the introduction of the new curriculum from kindergarten to primary school six.

He said the presentation of the vehicles and the motorbikes would help the beneficiaries in their supervisory and monitoring activities to improve teaching and learning.

The new curriculum being introduced from September 2019 academic year would, among other things, help to improve teaching and learning at the basic level of education.

In other news, the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has hinted that it could cost the country up to $4 billion (GHc21 billion) in order to clean up the financial sector.

Mr. Ofori-Atta delivered the 2019 mid-year budget review on the floor of Parliament on Monday, July 30.

He said government’s swift intervention in the banking situation helped save the jobs of about 3000 people in the sector.
