Wife gets court order to stop husband from marrying another woman

- An obviously angry woman has sought an application to prevent her husband from getting married again

- According to the woman, her husband illegally got a divorce from her without her knowledge

- She however filed a suit to stop him from marrying tomorrow, August 3, 2019

A middle aged women, has filed an application to restrain her husband from celebrating a marriage ceremony tomorrow, August 3, 2019, in Nungua, a suburb of Accra.

Josephine Kyeremeh, sought an interlocutory injunction against her husband, Prince Osei Bonsu who unlawfully got divorced.

According to an affidavit in possession of the mother of two, she lawfully married Prince Osei Bonsu, under Customary Law in 2000 and later converted the marriage to an ordinance marriage three years ago on April 1, 2016 at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly Chamber.

“Prince Osei Bonsu and I have not lived together as man and wife since September 2018.

On my blind side, my husband obtained a certificate of divorce dated the September 19, 2018 from the District Court in Asamankese and unknown to me, my husband got a lawful attorney to represent me in the purported divorce proceedings” the affidavit stated.

Miss Kyeremeh further indicated that the supposed divorce certificate was obtained without any form of notice to the her, concerning the proceedings.

“Based on the fraudulently procured divorce certificate, Prince is attempting to celebrate a marriage with one Evelyn Ayebie and invitations have been sent out already to that effect."

Miss Kyeremeh said the marriage between her husband and herself has not been validly dissolved by the courts and as a result, he cannot go on to tie the knot with another woman.
