One dead, 40 hospitalised after consuming food at wedding reception

A wedding guest has met his untimely death with 40 others been hospitalised after allegedly suffering from food poisoning and cholera after eating food served at a wedding reception.

Tests conducted on the victims indicated they suffered from cholera and food poisoning after attending a ceremony in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi last Saturday.

According to Kenya's Star newspaper, the wedding feast was attended by some 450 guests,

The food served consisted vegetable salad, mixed vegetables, vegetable rice, beef, mukimo, njahi, rice and chapati among other dishes all at Sh184,000 worth GHC9655.94.

According to the report, the newly wedded couple did not suffer from any food poisoning as they flew to Dubai immediately after their wedding on Saturday.

Samson Mathu, the groom's brother, according to the newspaper, has written to the food supplier to demand answers.

The caterer has not commented on the alleged cholera outbreak.

In other news, Gospel musician who also doubles as prophetess, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, has released a fresh prophecy about Ghana’s ‘Highest’ rapper Sarkodie.

Asamoah has claimed that Sarkodie is destined to be a pastor, and there is nothing he can do about it than just to accept that fate.

She added that whether Sarkodie likes it or yes, his days are numbered for him to turn to the pulpit.
