Amid the marital scandal which rocked former Ghanaian striker Odartey Lamptey and his ex-wife Gloria Appiah, the name of some personalities emerged as having had affairs with the lady.

Notable among the names which was widely speculated is Charles Kwablan Akonnor, another former Ghana player.

The rumours lingered for some time but neither Akonnor nor Lamptey made any public statements about the thriving gossips.

Odartey Lamptey in particular resisted attempts to comment on the alleged loved-up affairs between his ex-teammates and now ex-wife.

However, the former Ghanaian striker may have just hinted after he affirmed he is no longer friends with Akonnor.

In an interview on Angel FM, Odartey admitted he no longer has a relationship with the friend he personally introduced to Secondi 11 Wise.

While he did not confirm or deny Akonnor’s alleged sexual escapades with his divorced wife, Odartey said: ''I’m sad to talk to about this issue but I thank GOD for giving me that courage to stand for whatever I have gone through to be able to come out and am moving on. Now I can boast and say these are my kids, I have a family and good wife,'' Odartey Lamptey said.

''I have moved on personally. Everybody knows what happened and it happens in life. I have upgraded myself. I have a new family now and three kids and enjoying life now.''

Odartey broke down in the course of the interview and vowed not to work with Akonnor again.
