News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that Ghanaian artiste, Emmanuel Apraku popularly known as Ray Styles is dead.

Confirming the news, YEN.com.gh sighted a similar post on Class FM's Facebook page as well.

Ray Styles reportedly died in the afternoon of Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Ray Styles was diagnosed with liver disease and he has since been battling for his life. He needs an urgent medical liver surgery.

Soul-wrenching images that emerged of Apraku on social media showed him in a delicate condition as his health continued to worsen due to the liver disease.

After a massive social media buzz announcing his illness and the need for funds to support in his treatment, Ray Styles received a massive donation from Ghanaians.

The budget for the medical procedure that was expected to be undertaken on him was $55,000 but in less than two days, over $70,000 was raised on GoFundMe.

Following a report by YEN.com.gh, Ghana's First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has contributed $20,000 (GHc115,577.86) to assist with the medical expenses.

Some Ghanaians and celebrities, including Naa Ashorkor, also took to social media to solicit for financial assistance for Rays' treatment.

In a video he recorded, he expressed profound gratitude to everyone who contributed their widow's mite to see him get better and also used the opportunity to ask individuals requesting for their monies to kindly desist from it.
