Election 2020: Respect the rule of law - Kumasi Dotehene advises Mahama
- The Kumasi Dotehene has called on former president Mahama to respect the laws of the country
- Nana Oteng Kuffour Kwarteng II underscored the need for Mahama to forward his electoral grievances to a court of competence for redress

The Kumasi Dotehene, Nana Oteng Kuffour Kwarteng II has called on former president John Dramani Mahama to respect the laws of the country.
He underscored the need for Mahama to forward his electoral grievances to a court of competence for redress, if he feels the 2020 general elections results were rigged in favor of Nana Akufo- Addo.
Speaking to the YEN.com.gh's correspondent, Nana Kwarteng II said since Mahama is a stateman himself, he would well understand the rule of law and how well it ends.

He therefore called on the NDC flagbearer to advise the NDC supporters who have resorted to violent protests to remain calm as he addresses the issue at through the appropriate quarters for the sake of peace and stability.
Nana Kuffour noted that per the rules governing elections in the country, any candidate who felt cheated had the right to seek legal redress within 21 days or hold their peace.
The chief, however, does not side with the unnecessary tension and protests from the camp of the NDC, claiming that they won the election but were cheated of it.
Nana Oteng Kuffour Kwarteng II has advised the government to tighten security and be on the look out for those who would be fomenting trouble to disrupt the peace in the country.
Meanwhile, John Dramani Mahama, has called for an independent audit of the Electoral Commission’s (EC) election figures.
The audit of these figures from the just ended elections, is necessary to settle the tensions over the declared results.
Mahama, however, assured that if the independent audit done by the EC is satisfactory he will be the first to concede and walk away peacefully.
In other news, the NDC in the Northern Region is questioning the police how an NDC person could have shot its own party supporter during the celebration of the declaration of the NDC candidate as winner of the Savelugu seat.
The party said the police should be targeting the likes an NPP sympathizer who they named Gabby for allegedly shooting at the police station.
Addressing a press conference in Tamale Northern Regional Secretary of the NDC Mohammed Abdul Salam said the party believes is a plot to hang a murder charge on the PC elect.
