Wisconsin Varsity Almost Closed For Gh¢6 Million Tax Arrears
One of Accra's private universities, Wisconsin University, survived the terror of a lock down by the Ghana Revenue Authority as the company's taskforce stormed the campus over Gh¢6 million unpaid taxes.
Reports by Starr FM in Accra explains the possible closure was forestalled following a 50% undertaken signed by the Chairman of the University's council and Board Chairman.

The drastic move follows several efforts by the GRA to force the closure of companies defaulting in tax arrears.

So far, an estimate of about Gh¢12.4 million is said to have been retrieved through the abled efforts of the taskforce set up on the 3rd of August by the Authority.

Affected companies which have had their premises locked so far includes Margins ID Systems with a tax arrears of Gh¢2,095,387.06 and the International Energy Insurance Company following closely with Gh¢1.3 million.
