I was awarded the smartest maths and science student - Teen denied admission into Achimota

Tyrone Marhguy, one of the teenagers who was denied admission into Achimota School because of his dreadlocks has feted his academic credentials.

The brilliant junior high school graduate was refused entry into Achimota School for his hairstyle, which goes against the rules of the reputable school.

Freshman Tyrone and his father, Tereo Kwame Marhguy, have granted interviews challenging the decision by authorities at the Achimota School refusing to admit Tyrone because of his natural hair.

The youngster had posited that authorities at the esteemed public school should focus on his sterling academic abilities and not his appearance.

However, the headmistress at the Achimota School and other powerful personalities at the school insist that Marhguy must cut off his dreadlocks before he would gain entry into the school.

The Old Students Association of Achimota School and the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) have also backed the school's decision.

In a recent post on his Twitter handle, Marhguy celebrated his academic laurels despite the impasse.

''This was me in my dreadlocks when I was "awarded", and still hold that beautiful record undoubtedly as the smartest Mathematics and Science student ever produced! Well done Omega Schools!'' he said.

Terone Marhguy and Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea were both refused admission into Achimota School and the duo has since been working to get authorities at the school to rescind the decision.

In other news, a female pilot has been showered with accolades by passengers of a plane after she mastered the moment and landed safely at an airport amid uneasy weather conditions.

Though details of the incident remain sketchy, a video of the female pilot arriving in the company of her male colleagues at the airport has surfaced on social media.

In the heartwarming video, passengers of the plane could be seen applauding the young female pilot as she arrived in the company of her male colleagues.
