Tributes flow for 20-year-old man in UK who died trying to rescue woman from river
- Tributes have poured in for a young Nigerian-born Briton who sacrificed his life to save a woman that fell from London Bridge into the River Thames
- Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole, popularly called Jimi, was found lifeless almost six hours after his heroic act
- His 63-year-old father and social media users have praised the young man for being selfless
The father of a 20-year-old Nigerian-born Briton who jumped into the River Thames to save a woman who had fallen from London Bridge has paid tribute to his “angelic son”.
Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole did the heroic act on Saturday, April 24, and his body was found almost six hours later, Evening Standard reports.

Reacting to his son's heroic act, Michael Adewola said Jimi was a very kind young man who was the heart of the family.
The 63-year-old man said:
"He was full of life, he had his life to live, he was ambitious and so gifted. He deserves a medal for what he did. He is a very unique and angelic soul and I am so proud of him. So proud, and I want the world to know he is the deepest and most wonderful man.”
A British Army officer and explorer, Levison Wood, also paid tribute to Jimi for sacrificing himself for a stranger.
Wood took to Twitter to tell the world about Jimi's heroic act.
He wrote:
"This is Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole. He was 20 years old.
"Yesterday, he gave his life to save the life of a complete stranger who fell from London Bridge.
"Rest in peace you brave young hero."
Many tweeps soon flooded the comment section of the post to pay tributes to the hero.

In other news, the death of another man less than two hours before the commencement of his wedding ceremony had thrown some members of the Ikyangedu community in Nasarawa state into mourning.
The would-be husband, John Abugu, was knocked down by a vehicle when he went to pick up his wedding suit at the shop of a dry cleaner.
