- Afia Schwar has joined forces with Kennedy Agyapong to support the #Fixthecountry movement
- Both personalities came together amid past fractures in their relationship
- #Fixthecountry movement emanated into a protest which has been suspended by the High Court
Afia Schwarzenegger has extended a hand of collaboration to Kennedy Agyapong, to support and advocate the trending movement “#Fixthecountry”.
Both media and political personalities have had they own version of fights and disagreements but seemed to have patched up really well on this new venture.
It all started with the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, was in a viral video commending television personality, Afia Schwarzenegger, for her resolve to put leaders accountable.
In return, Afia convinced Kennedy Agyapong to come join hands to “fix the country because we will make magic and can even catch the president and give him some lashes when he goes wrong”.
The #FixtheCountry hashtag has dominated headlines in the past week. This is been advanced by disgruntled Ghanaians - mostly youth who says their leaders and government officials have failed them in developing the country.
This movement, which has gained support from all quarters of the political divide, led to a resolve for some protests on the streets of Accra on May 9.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has sought an injunction on this protest from the High Court which cites Covid-19 and its threats to Public Order as the reason.
