Ruud van Nistelrooy set to be appointed Leicester City coach
Multiple reports now indicate that the Dutch legend is set to be appointed as the new manager of Leicester City. Telegraph understands that the Foxes will offer him a contract after an acceleration of talks between the two.
The 2016 Premier League champions are looking for a head coach imminently after sacking Steve Cooper. After a pathetic start to the season, Cooper was dismissed after just five months in charge. He left them just one point above the relegation zone.
When will Van Nistelrooy start at Leicester?
Sky Sports understands that Van Nistelrooy's contract could be readied as soon as possible for him to take charge of the Brentford game on Saturday.
The report adds that Leicester had considered former Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac and current West Brom boss Carlos Corberan before club owner Aiyawatt Shrivadhannaprabha settled on Van Nistelrooy.
The former PSV Eindhoven manager coached United twice against Leicester, winning both games. His other games as interim at Old Trafford were a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and a 2-0 win over PAOK.
