Renowned music producer and sound engineer Appietus has named Daddy Lumba’s “Nana Ye Winner” as the biggest political campaign song ever released in the country.
The song which was composed for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo ahead of the 2012 general election took over the whole country and got many people singing along in no time.
In an interview with MzGee on Hitz FM, Mr. Appiah Dankwah, aka Appietus said he recorded the song because of the money that came with it and not because of any political affiliation.
He however did not hold back when he was asked about which song he thought was the best campaign song so far in the history of Ghana's elections.
He almost without thinking went straight for Daddy Lumba’s “Nana Ye Winner.”
Many will attest to the fact that although the song was purposed for a political campaign, it ended up being one of the favourites of many Ghanaians.
